Here's what really put the nail in my coffin---my 2nd entry for the contest happening at the house of

Here's what the creator had to say about her:
Bianca's some warrior/samura/ninja/whateverthehell fantasy female I derived out of frustration last year. She's pretty tall and lanky, around 5'11 or so. Likewise, she sports blue eyes and bloody long hair, only her hair is a dark brown and reflects a little reddish. The outfit you put on her is really your call....I've gone from the bandages and samurai pants, to a smaller top and armour on her right shoulder/upper arm area (blame Soul Calibur 3).

I will stress that she has one or both of her VERY LONG katana-like swords (no comments from the sword nerds here, please...it's fantasy). The handle is a burgundy red; the tsuba and handle end are gold; the blade is STRAIGHT NOT CURVED. Once more, lookit what I've done with her:

So..............whenever I draw a character that isn't mine, I tend to get VERY over active in teh imagination department. So as soon as I thought of the piece I was gonna do, I envisioned a battle scene---much in the realm of Azhyana[link] I was like---"she should fight monsters--that'd be cool" But me and my weird self takes it further.

"Bianca was en route to a temple in teh northern mountains, but was forced to take Cinder Path--a wasteland where some parts of the ground are so hot, they glow red! Lurking across the canyon is a small band of half demons--eager to add Bianca's head to their mantle as they ravaged her body.

So yea, pretend that's the story that goes with the piece. I went a slightly more stylized 'cause it's fun--and I like doing that when I'm painting, so there. This took a day, in the neighborhood of 16 or so hours, I think.
